Our Work

Eight Areas of Holistic Community Development

Watering Oasis Global addresses the interconnected factors that shape community well-being — from education and health to agriculture, water, environmental resilience, and economic opportunity.

WOG's eight areas of work provide a framework for developing sustainable, community-centered initiatives. Individual projects may address one or several of these areas depending on community priorities, available resources, partnerships, and local conditions.

Across its work, WOG emphasizes community participation, local capacity, education, strategic partnerships, and solutions designed for long-term sustainability.

From Areas of Work to Community Projects

WOG's eight program areas are designed to work together rather than operate in isolation. A community initiative may combine education with health, agriculture with environmental resilience, or youth development with economic opportunity.

In Ethiopia, WOG is developing initiatives through relationships with community organizations, educational institutions, and local leaders, with current geographic areas of focus including Wolaita Sodo, Arba Minch, and surrounding communities.

WOG's documented organizational relationships include CHANGE MAKERS ON THE LIFE OF CHILDREN AND WOMEN, Children Cross Connection (CCC), and Sawla Poly Technic College (Ethiopia).
